Pictures Taken From My Walks And Visits Of Wharfedale

Welcome to this part of the site featuring pictures taken my visits and walks of Wharfedale. It is the nearest neighbour of Nidderdale and is much more busier. These pictures are from my visits during 2004 and 2006.  

Wetherby. Althrough not stictly in The Yorkshire Dales, This view is the old Great North road bridge that spins the River Wharfe.

Wetherby. This is looking up Church Street, one of the towns pleasant little back streets, with its throughfare of little shops.

Ilkley. Pleasent spa town with outdoor swmming pool and Lido. Links with two long Distance Footpaths, The Dales Way and The Ebor Way towards the East.

Ilkley Moor. This is looking towards The White Wells House and Tea Rooms, a nice cosy shelter from the wet weather.

Ilkley Moor. This is looking towards The Cow And Calf Rocks

Bolton Abbey. Wharfedales most busiest tourist attractions, all year round and this view was taken from the other side of The River.

Bolton Abbey. This is a popular picture postcard view of the monument and was taken while out on a walk of The Estate.

Bolton Abbey. This is looking towards The Village Green, towards the Junction of the main Grassington Road.

The River Wharfe. This is looking towards The village of Burnsall and was taken on a days walk.

Burnsall. One of Wharfedales prettiest villages and this view is looking towards The Village Green.

Appletreewick. Situatated near Burnsall. This is looking into the village, on the road leading from Burnsall

Appletreewick. This is in the New Inn Public House car park.

The River Wharfe, near Grassington. This is looking towards Bow Bridge, an Ancient Suspension Bridge and was taken on a walk to Appletreewick.

The River Wharfe, near Burnsall. This is one of my best pictures I think I have taken on this section of the path.

Burnsall. This is a typical relaxed Summer view of the Village green, on a busy Summer weekday and was taken in 2004.

Appletreewick. This is looking towards Appletreewick Moor and was taken on a days visit during Summer 2004.

Grassington. Like Pateley Bridge, it is a pleasent little Wharfedale town, with plenty of Tea Shops. This view is looking into the village centre.

Linton In Craven. Another one of Wharfedale's lovliest villages and was awarded as one of Yorkshires best kept village, during the 1980s.

Linton In Craven. This is on the Village Green, Looking towards the old Georgian Hospital, Built by Richard Fountain in 1721.

Linton In Craven. This is another scene of this splended Yorkshire Dales Village, looking across the Green towards The Fountaine Inn, Public House.

The Dales Way. Taken while on a walk between Grassington and Kettlewell. This is looking towards Old Pasture, near Coniston.

The Dales Way, near Coniston. Notice the limestone crag in the foreview gives The Dales, that special limestone country character.

Coniston. Small village, Situated in between Grassington and Kettlewell. It Still appears to have that unspoilt character of a Wharfedale Village.

Kettlewell. Like Malham, It is very busy and pleasent village and this view is looking towards The Bluebell Inn Public House.

Kettlewell. This is looking into village centre, from the direction of Grassington, on the B6160 approach road.
